Stylish Laundry Room

Share to

When you have a good amount of space in your laundry room, it may feel as though it isn’t being properly utilized. After all, when people think of ways to style their home the last thing they think of is to do their laundry room. Here at Lions Den Construction, we believe that a laundry room should be a space that isn’t just highly functional in terms of convenience and efficiency, but stylish in terms of appearance as well. When you decide to style your laundry room, this becomes less of a place that you dread, and more of a place to somewhat enjoy doing your (otherwise boring) tasks in. To learn how to create a stylish laundry room, check out the tips our construction company has to offer below.

Install Cabinets

When you really want to blend your laundry design into the rest of your home and you own front-loaded machines, one of the best ways to do so is by creating large cabinets for the appliances. This way, when a guest accidentally enters this room they will be under the assumption that it is another closet, unbeknownst to the fact that it is the space where you do all the laundry. Installing cabinets above your washer and dryer can also be beneficial when you need a place to store your detergents, fabric softeners and dryer sheets. When everything is left on the floor, it can be an eyesore to both guests and potential buyers of your home, so add an extra flair of both décor and organization with cabinets and make your laundry room truly shine.

Use Frosted Glass Doors

When you own a tiny laundry room it can be hard to make the space look larger, and installing a dark, solid door does not help in the slightest. When you want to make this area look bigger while also concealing it from the rest of the home, we recommend that you install a frosted glass door or a fluted glass door.

Add Some Texture

Let’s be honest— spending hours upon hours in a room with blank walls can be quite the deterrent to getting things done. In order to avoid this feeling of dullness and exasperation, try installing a pretty backsplash into your laundry room. When a place looks nicer, it will be much easier to get things done when stuck inside a room for long amounts of time.

Add a Counter/Kitchen Island

This may seem like an odd piece of advice, but it is actually extremely beneficial in a space such as a laundry room. When you add a counter into your space, you are giving yourself a lot more space to work with in terms of getting your laundry done. This space could be utilized in a number of different ways, including a space to set your phone/laptop down to watch a show while you do the laundry, a space to fold your clothes, a space to organize piles of laundry, etc. If you or your family also has the tendency to get hard to wash stains on their clothing, a counter is a great space for placing these clothes and doing spot-treatments. Regardless of how you use it, this addition sees itself as not just beneficial in a sense of convenience, but also in a sense of adding style as well.
