We have a wealth of experience in the home renovation industry, and we would be glad to share with you the stages of a kitchen renovation. If you are gearing up for an upcoming Kitchen Renovation in Etobicoke, check out this guideline.

Plan the New Kitchen Design

The first step of this project is to lay out and think of the design you want for your kitchen. When you hire a professional designer, they will be able to help guide you through this process by showing you popular materials, colours, appliances, and ideas. They can also provide you with recommendations that match your lifestyle and preferences. At the end of the kitchen design stage, you should have a clear vision of your space and know how you want everything to look by the end of the project.

Kitchen Clean Out

Before the kitchen renovation work begins, the old kitchen furniture, appliances, cabinets, etc., will have to be removed from the space. Most times, a contractor will have both a plumber and an electrician come in to deal with the water and gas outlets so that they do not cause problems during the renovation. If you are planning to replace the current floors, the flooring will also be removed during this step.

Begin the Kitchen Renovation

After the old kitchen has been demolished, any desired structural changes will take place next (Ex. moving walls). After this, a rough-in of the plumbing and electrical will take place, and then the new drywall and flooring will be installed. The walls will be prepped, primed, and painted, and then the cabinets will be installed. After this, countertops, lighting, and appliances will be assembled and installed. Finishing details and hardware will be established next along with the backsplash. The final step of the process is to clean the dust and debris away.

Connecting the Appliances

When a kitchen renovation takes place, most homeowners choose to have new appliances installed in their space. This task requires a professional to come in and connect the appliances to the corresponding gas or water. After the appliances have been connected, it’s time to take your plates and cups out of packing, and put them into their new cabinets. Feel free to add your desired kitchen décor and kitchen plants as your new space is ready for functional use!
